“The end of a melody is not its goal: but nonetheless, had the melody not reached its end it would not have reached its goal either. A parable.”

-Friedrich Nietzsche

It feels like yesterday when we started this fellowship and here we are moving towards the end, had a lot of fun activities and the courses were truly amazing. Our circle did great in all aspects. As the fellowship is ending so before the end, we have to complete the criteria, which includes this blog that I am writing right now. In blog 1 we briefly told you about our mega project “A Step into Health” and now we are writing this to update you guys on the progress of the project.

Until now we have conducted 1 webinar on Obesity, guest speaker was a renowned dietician from Faisalabad, Dr. Sadaf Yasin. More than 60 people participated in that webinar, Dr. Sadaf explained the diseases caused by obesity and stated that she’ll make free diet plans for one’s who are interested in our request. And 4–5 people contacted us, later on, to get in touch with the dietician we helped those guys and provided them their diet plans.

To learn more about the audience we created survey forms, which will be analyzed properly by the phycologist in our group.

Shared snack recipes on IG page.

Had small talks at GCUF electrical department and planned a seminar at COTHM institute.

The first challenge appeared when people were not responding to the survey forms, then we quickly set up a meeting and decided that everyone will share the forms separately on their stories and will share in groups multiple times so that if someone missed it the first time will learn about the form later in 2nd time. And thank god this plan worked we have received more than 200 responses till now.

The second challenge was to make this project more effective so that more people get a chance to improve their health and can have a better lifestyle or can prevent themselves from obesity. And this all isn’t possible doing online webinars or surveys, then we again had a group meeting in which we decided that as most of us’ universities are open now so we will use this as a chance to spread the word out. In our own department or in our friends’ department. Besides this, we planned a seminar at the COTHM institution.

The impact of both the sessions in person and online was amazing a total of 15 people reach out to us for their diet plan and 10 people were interested in using our snacks. Feedback from the first webinar was amazing everyone enjoyed the whole process.

Moreover, this was the change of plan; at first, we had no plans of going physical due to the lockdown situation. Then as the time the past, we realized we should think of some physical plans too. These were the significant changes we made, and it was all possible because of our circle, everyone was ready to do their part.

One of our fellow circle members is a practicing dietician and one is a phycologist. We have established the platform and now even after the fellowship we will be working on this project and will try to invest more time and money to give it better recognition.

In the end, it was an amazing journey of 3 months, learned the most of my life in these 3 months, Thank You AMAL Academy for providing such a nice team to work with, it was truly an honor.
